Therapy in German | London Art Psychotherapy

I am an HCPC ( Health Professional Council) and BAAT( British Association of Art therapists) registered Art Psychotherapist with many years of working in the public and voluntary sector in Mental Health and Addiction services in London. Over the last 15 years, I have also been working in Private Practice.

Art Therapy | London Art Psychotherapy

I have additionally trained in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling with the Minster centre (Advanced Diploma and MA). I am an accredited member of UKCP. (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) Integrative Psychotherapy aims towards the integration of Mind, Body and Emotions in an individual way. By exploring personal problems in a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space, a process of healing can happen and these issues that have felt stuck can shift.

My training in Art therapy and Psychotherapy and Counselling has been based on Psychodynamic and Integrative theory. My additional training over the last years has been based on Psychoanalytic thinking.

I have done additional training at the Tavistock Centre in 'Working with Trauma', this is an area I am particularly interested in. Having completed a two year 'Baby Observation course' at British Psychotherapy Foundation has made me more aware of early processes and their significance for therapeutic work with my clients and the particular experiences, that parents and babies go through. 'Mindfulness meditation' and exercises have also been of interest to me as a way of helping with anxiety, stress and depression. I can offer this approach in combination with Art therapy or Psychotherapy, depending on your needs.

I have found Art therapy and Art and Psychotherapy and Buddhist meditation and ethics important for my own professional practice and my life in general. I have been doing Art over the last thirty years and see creative practice and Therapy and Buddhist practice as a vital source for living life meaningfully.

Therapy Hackney | London Art Psychotherapy

The first session

The first session is for both of us a way of finding out, how we can work together. We would talk about the reasons for you seeking help and in what way I am able to help you and which way of working would be most beneficial for you. We would agree on a time to meet weekly and discuss other boundaries of the sessions (fee, breaks, the info I need from you or you need from me, meeting online or in person, confidentiality). The session lasts 50 minutes; it can be during the day or evenings. We would also discuss how long you wish to come for, either open-ended or for a limited number of sessions. I work online at present due to the pandemic but prefer seeing people at my practice in Hackney (Upper Clapton).

Ethics

I abide in my professional practice to the BAAT code of Ethics and principles of good practice and also to the UKCP Code of Ethics. I am an accredited member of UKCP and a state registered Art Psychotherapist and therefore registered with HCPC. I am working in compliance with General Data Protection Regulation( GPDR) and I am registered with the ICO.
